He has done this before mind you, but his job was to represent himself before our Governor General for the the people he represents, despite him being in opposition. I believe that was a great insult to our system of government and democracy…I could not live well with what he did today…him and Mr.Symonette. So even I who is not a PLP supporter was disgusted.

Okay answer me this…If not showing up was a political move, protest, stratergy… and purspose of Mr. Ingraham and Symonette being in politics is to influence, instigate, aggitate and ultimately return to be the government…
Isn’t this no show up simular to throwing out the mace…In 10 years, history may record this as the best political demonstration ever…all depends on who writes it…If the PLP wins…it was blow against democracy…not sure how that is…and if the FNM wins…it was a stand of solidarity and if the CDR wins…there will be a party in the back yard…ohhh oh oh, non stop partying all night long….And the Bahamas will be rake and scraping until the broad day light..partying until the break of dawn

Last words of Iscariot

Last words of Iscariot

Listen! For you must understand that
I did not know that it would have ended like this.
I did not know the evil that would have resulted from my kiss.
For it was such a simple kiss,
A kiss that I thought would have only spurred on the insurrection.
The revolution that our people for so long was waiting on,
The rebellion that I for so long was anticipating.
But there was none.
For they took you away,
Away from me and away from amongst us.
Oh God, what have I done?
I thought I was helping.
I thought that it was my duty to force the issue.
For it seemed as if only I understood who you were.
It seemed as if no one else knew
Nor comprehended the power that you wield.
I thought that only if I pushed you,
Endangered you, forced your hand,
That you would have had no other choice,
But to use your powers.
And oh yes, I saw the potential within your powers.
I was drunk with the possibilities of what our tribes
Could have done with you as our leader.
I saw how you could have led the revolt against
The Roman tyrants who had enslaved us.
I thought that with you at our side,
Whom would we fear?
For, I had witnessed how you walked upon the waters with ease
And what’s more, I had observed
How you quelled the rough seas with a mere whisper.
Truly, no longer would the ocean be a barrier to our conquests,
No longer would far away Rome be safe against our forces.
Even grim death would not have its sting against us,
For, you gave life to the dead and healed the infirmed.
You had the power to tell the cripple to rise up and walk.
Truly you were the Messiah, our Savior, and the Lion of Judea.
He who had been promised to come and lead us into battle.
Oh how many a night, I had dreamt about
Us marching upon Rome, to be victorious,
For I knew that we had God with us.
Yes, there was many a night that i envisioned the faces
Of the chief priests and Pharisees who doubted you
And how astonished they would be to know that they were
Wrong and that the Messiah, whom the prophets had foretold about
Was amongst us all along.
My Lord, I was ready to fight.
I was ready to be a part of your kingdom.
I was ready to serve and to take part in the riches
That would have come from our great victories.
So you must understand that I did not betray you
For the stinking pieces of silver,
But I only delivered you unto your destiny.
I only assisted you in completing your purpose,
And the pieces of silver,
Well, you can’t blame a man for wanting to make a profit;
For we all know money is the answer to all things.
Nonetheless, I would gladly give it all up,
All to know that you are safe.
I would gladly abandon my desires of prosperity
To know that I had nothing to do with your death,
To know that I am not the betrayer of the Christ.
But who would believe me?
Who would understand?
For I can hardly believe myself.
Oh you treacherous Romans!
Take ye back your dirty silver,
For its blood money and I do not want
To have anything to do with it.
Oh Lord, forgive me for what I have done
And what I am about to do.
And oh treacherous noose, welcome me,
For only you seem to understand and
Have the strength to support my burden.
And as I tighten this beautiful noose,
Let it be known, that I did love the Lord,
But I did not understand his purpose…until now.

He gone for life

He gone for life

Brown skin gal,
I see you there peeping over that government wall,
Trying to catch a glimpse of your sentenced man,
Your big bad man.
Yeah gal, I see you there making them cat calls,
Trying to get his attention in order to cheer him on
Reminding him to stand strong, to represent,
For you have his back and that your heart is his.

-But, woman, can’t you see him busy?
Too damn busy for you, serving his time,
Trying to make that dime a day
Just to buy soap and toothpaste to clean his dirty ass.
-Brown skin gal, you better go home and find yourself another man,
A free man to take care them four hungry children you have.
For this man you have here, gal he gone, he left you for life.

Bahamas Issues: Number Racket in the Bahamas

Truly, the government of the Bahamas must be in cahoots with illegal gambling; as every day, these number houses apply and are granted licenses to operate. There are web shops on every street corner. In fact, opposing number houses set up shops right next to each other. There are number three number houses down town, one on P.I. and two on the cable beach stretch…not to mention the hundreds that exists over the hill. These number houses are now paying national insurance for their workers. Clearly, these number houses are legitimate!

Bahamas Issues: Comment on changing highway to Tonique Williams-Darling Highway

Ya see, I am all for rewarding our athletes; in fact, I believe Tonique Williams deserve to have a street name after her. But, I always wondered why Government always find it fit to change an already established street name/government building’s name to something else.

So dey wan change Harold Road to Tonique Williams’ Way; But what about Mr. Harold and his family? Do they have a say in regards to this change? Who cares right? As no one knows who the hell is Mr. Harold anyway, and why in the first instance, did the government honour him by naming a street after him? But that’s typical Bahamian government policy, being an ‘indian giver.’

Yep, our government is famous for that, honouring someone and insulting them by taking the honour later away. Look at the great TA Thompson, and educator, and T Gibson, the person who wrote the national Anthem. Schools were named after them, and later that honour was strip and given to someone else never to be replaced.

Look at Meeting Street, a street named due to the fact that former slaves used to meet their for rallys and various church organizations used to congregate for whatever reason…Now Meeting Street is Dillets Street…few persons knows that, but who in heaven is Dillet and why couldn’t some new subdivion named after him?

Once, they were trying to change East Street, to Sir Lynden Pingling Drive…the people of East Street cried out, in protest, despite the fact that East Street people loved Sir Lynden…But why did they protest, simply because the East Street and the people who lives there and who have decended from there has a legacy. The name means something to them.

Then they take Sir Stafford of the money…but that’s another story…

Bahamas Issues: Comment on white Prime Minister

I just thought about something…
Is the PLP only concern about Brent Symonette or are they concern about a white Prime minister in general… Could a Pierre Dupuch be prime minister? Would they have objected? Or he was never a UBP…Dupuch is around that age when the UBP was in power?

Bahamas Issues: Question regarding whether there are any white Bahamian heroes

Myth or a reality?
With the recent issues with Sir Stafford Stands face being removed off of the 10 dollar bill, and moreso with CB Moss questioning where are the Bahamian whites at Bahamian festivities, and moreso with AD Hanna response to Sir Stafford being on the 10 dollar bill in the first place, one must question are there Bahamian white heroes? Have they done anything to develope and enhance the Bahamas? And if they do exists, if they were once apart of this UBP party should they be recognized? Or is it that we just have a problem with Stafford Sands? Truly this PLP government makes it appears as if white Bahamian hero is a unicorn?

Kalahari: Women and their quest for the perfect man

The other day, I was listening to a conversation between a few women that I am aquainted with.  They were all successful in their own rights:  2 lawyers, 1 accountant, 1 lady had her own business, another was a  school teacher, another was a waitress of some sort and the last was a “big time” manager in a major hotel.  Their ages ranged from 26 -36, all making good money, independent, successful, yet all single, (i.e. not in a long term relationship, or involved for morethan a year), except for one. Exactly which one doesn’t matter.  Any way the conversation questioned:  Where are all the good men? The response was, there are none, and if there are some left, they are either married, gay of have issues.
I was disappointed and hurt.  For there are all kinds of single and decent men out there and I was in disbelief that they could not find not even one.
So I questioned what was the criteria that they are looking for in a man?  And they responded:  average height 5′9″ to 6′1″, (well that cuts me out, (smiles)), well built to muscular, very athletic, successful at whatever job he is employed at, however, making in the 6 digit range or able to purchase extravagant gifts every so often.  (hmmmm)  Has his own house, or a nice apartment, own car, (the type of car didn’t matter), well dressed, he must love and respect his mother, nonetheless, not be a momma’s boy.  He must be church oriented, however not a fanatic.  Their man must also be deeply in love and devoted to them.  So, I concluded, what about just having a man who just loves you?

Kalahari: Question regarding whether horror movies are being used by the devil

Just wanted to know your input… I personally love a good horror, even though I enjoy thrillers even better, however, of late I have notice that a few horror movies have a spiritual twist in it.  There are chants, the usage of bible scriptures, and the old latin language flowing throughout the movie…I just wanted to know if you think there may be a plot by evil forces, to corrupt us via the movie screen?
