Bahamas Issues: The Official Opposition to the Opposition
Can you imagine that there exists such a title?
And that title comes by way of the Hon. Tennyson Wells.
Since being booted out of the FNM, and since becoming a party member
Of absolutely nothing. Mr. Wells has find it extremely hard to adjust to the idea that he is now an independant member of parliament. There are a number of Independant MPs who work hard to represent their constituencies, ensuring that their supporters opinions are heard, scrutinizing the government’s projects, ensuring that the “people’s business” is attended to properly etc.
But not Mr. Wells!
Mr. Wells’ job is to complain about how he was unfairly booted out of the FNM, how the FNM is doing a horrible job, how they did a horrible job while he was apart of them way way back then, and finally his job is to complain that the FNM will fail, especially without him.
But guess what, he is no longer FNM, and sadly to say, it seems as if he doesnt even know it.
Case and Point:
If the schools need refurbishing by the PLP government, and all of the independant MPs complain and agitate along with the official opposition that something needs to be done, Mr. Wells, the Official Opposition to the opposition, would say, “forget the PLP, when I was in league with the FNM, they used to do things much worst. Don’t worry about fixing this problem at hand, lets investigate about how ineffficient the FNM were…
Ok…so what exactly is the Hon. Tennyson Wells’ job? to complain that he is by himself and that he is lonely in the boat.
