And the priests them came

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION, TARI, 1965 S.jpg (29084 bytes)

They came in our lives promising us salvation,
Promising us revelation, a better life without tribulation.
They told us about a One High God, an Almighty being,
whom we must worship and serve in order to live again.

We were transfigured,
and subsequently accepted the faith;
Not knowing that we would have to be their servants
In order to serve their God!

    Hey there Opiumpinion…
    thanks for visiting the blog…
I am assuming that your ‘amen’ is a sign of approval.
I came accross this picture and had to write this 30 seconds thought down. I hope to see you posting on here again.
    cheers,
    CN

thats a very astute observation and especially with the church holding the moral compass for most individuals who inevitably follow a very literal interpretation of religous dictate’s “titanic” implications

    Thanks for visiting the blog…
We are all servants with servants who have servants. Yet the church desires to be the boss: the final sayer. The lone truth, who possesses the only One True God.
Perhaps there would be nothing wrong with that, except in their pursuit to find God, the church has fall short, subsequently scold us for their short commings.

A very observant perspective. Vivid. And in our time,so true.

pharoah, Thanks pharoah for the comment. I hope to see you blogging soon. This blog of mine is a living breathing creature that has me prisoner.

I find it so strange the the Christian Church condone slavery and repeatly condones it in this modern age. When shall be be free from their shackles.

  7. Zakiya says:

Two tight quatrains, I dig it. I think being should be capitalized…love the title!

  8. canewry says:

Zakiya, Hey Zakiya, long time no hear from. How have you been? its been at least six months since we have corresponded. You are right about “being.” I looked and considered that before. I suppose to have revisited the poem. I haven’t since the first time I had written it. It was one of those inspirational moments where I just wrote what I saw in the picture…no thought.

Thanks for visiting the blog…and more thanks for the comments.

  9. Davon Gardiner says:

this is so true,we are misguided everyday bt their teaching, and i say their teachings because it can be the teaching of The Most High.Like Steve Harvey said on his stand up comedy show(He ain’t through with me yet)why when we sin we must tell it to so dude we can’t see and when they sin(touching the alter boys who do they talk to.

  10. canewry says:

Davon Gardiner, “D” it’s just dogma, dogma, dogma…We all shall be judge accordingly and individually by God. I still find it amusing that in this modern day foreign white people are able to dictate to us how we suppose to relate and worship our own God. Apparently, only them received the official instructions.
