Bahamas Issues: Shane Gibson needs to resign immediately

Clearly Mr. Gibson deliberately misdirected the Bahamian public in regards to the reason of the speedy Anna Nicole Smith’s permanent residency. Its obviously that corruption is afoot and must be dealt with instantly.

There exist NO economic investment by Anna Nicole as yet in this Bahamas. Moreso, there exist NO house in Lyford Cay or any place else in this Bahamas. Anna Nicole has only brought embarrassment and negative publicity to the Bahamian government. She needs to be expelled immediately from the Bahamas as she exists here “illegally” and moreso she received her residency under dubious false pretenses.

Since Ms. Smith’s arrival, the Bahamian people has learnt that she is a personal friend of Mr. Gibson. We watched as Mr. Gibson attended her spectacle wedding, (which too, we have learnt is illegal) and of late Mr Gibson’s wife attended Ms. Smith’s son’s private funeral. Clearly something is wrong here and the Prime Minister needs to deal with it immediately!

Bahamas Issues: the Pindling Dynasty: Mega Millionaires

Actually, exactly how much does lady Magarette Pindling worth?
Is it 10 million, 20 million, perhaps 57 millon dollars? One of them old commission of inquiries said the couple ‘ran through/banked up’ 57 million dollars during a 10 year period in the early 80’s. Wow! That’s real money…black money…hard working money, money that came from blood, sweat and tears. (But whose?) Man, I aint even ga go there.

But seriously, I still want to know how did Lady Pindling and her family come by their mass amount of wealth? What type of business are they in? How come they seem so secretive about it? Of course her husband left her well off. But dang, we talking real money being made on this little island nation. Man, Lynden Pindling had wads of sweaty monies stashed all over the place: Investments on top of investments. Truly he worked hard providing for his family.

But my issue is this: how come the Bahamian public have to still be paying off the Pindling them bills in spite their millions? Man, I heard we had to pay off their mortgage for their million dollar house when Sir Lynden died…fine! I was cool with that..what’s a few million dollars donated to a mega millionaire, I am all for helping a brudda out. Then I heard we had to pay Sir Lynden’s medical and funeral bills…hmm…well, he was our first prime minister so we suppose to have supported them during their time of need. In spite the fact that the man had an umpteen million dollar insurance. Where that money gone?

Then Lady P got her husband’s pension…then back pay of that pension. Wow! real money on top of money…But it doesn’t end there. Now I hearing her light bill does be paid by us, her water bill, her phone bill, gad dang all her bills the Bahamian public paying…So what on earth is she doing with her money? Banking it up and saving it up for Obie and Michelle them? Man, is there a need to make this woman even wealthier?

Whoa…and it still continues…the PM now have this woman double dipping just like he boi Ingraham…I mean she getting her pension and being paid as the Govenor General at the same time….Wow to only be a Pindling right now…

Bahamas Issues: All we are saying is to give Cassius Stuart a chance.

The General Election is mere months away. The PLP government has gone into overdrive hiring public relations officers to promote the successes of the PLP and to ensure that the Bahamian populace is aware of all of its anchor projects. Every day, the Bahamian populace is subliminally reminded about the PLP’s promise of ‘help and hope’ and salvation for Bahamian masses. But alas, the majority of Bahamians are still waiting for that ‘help,’ thank God for ‘hope.’ Dem with their “so said…so done” slogan. Both ZNS and BIS journalists are inundated with press releases. Neither of them are in search of governmental news; in fact they appear to be omnipresent when it comes to governmental news, be it big, small or trivial. It seems as if there is never a need to call them; they seem to be permanent shadow fixtures of the governmental Ministers: beyond doubt, there must be a reporter assigned to each government Minister.

Just this week, MPs whom the public havent heard from in months can be seen given press statements and orchestrating social committees. Mr. Adderley, Ms. Bridgewater and Ms. Marcel mouths are now filled with colourful and intriguing words. It seems as if now a days they have something interesting to say. However, the words are like the Prime minister’s: utter babble! Useless, colourful speeches, that frustrates the public.

And then there is the FNM. ‘The want ta be government.’ You will never see it, no time soon! In a few weeks, they will be celebrating their short lived 10 year of governance. Apparently, they have something to cheer about. Poor fellows! Perhaps they have forgotten why they were voted out in the first place. Don’t worry, they will be reminded again, in a few months. To this day, they still have no clue what went wrong during the last general election, subsequently they are doomed to repeat the same mistake. Sigh, and they saying that with them there is still “better to come.” But was it better before? Oh well!

But all ain’t bad you know. More than one woman can born a Bahamian Prime Minister. Ya boy Cassius Stuart looking better everyday, when you compare him to these dimwits! Perhaps, he is our Bahamian saviour. The only one scandal free. The only one without an apparent hidden agenda. The only one who don’t want sell out the country to fat up his own pocket.

So, I say, let’s dance to the tune Bahamas and vote out of the regular brown raggity box and sing the refrain of “all we are saying is, we gan give Cassius Stuart a chance!”

Bahamas Issues: Election too important to vote independent

Nah, everybody knows that the general elections coming up soon, but seriously who we gan vote for. Man, I really getting desperate now; the Bahamas needs a saviour! I tired of just merely surviving in this country. It seems as if only a selected few getting a piece of the pie. The crumbs I getting just ain’t fulling me up dred! I bug! I dead screw ya know bullah!

It is quite clear that the PLP dem doing some odd things man; some peculiar things, just some dumb azz things, completely opposite to what the Bahamas needs to do in order to move to the next level, (sorry about the cliche). The entire party is filled to the brim with questionable characters man, who wantonly do as they like. They stay threatening and intimidating people, in fact throwing out people dem furniture out of their houses dred, calling civil servants them ’stupid and lazy’… Man, it seems as if they stay in the news concerning scandals. None of them knows what honourable really means. And can you imagine, they want me vote for them…they mussy crazy!

It is a fact that the prime minister is slow at making decisions and the decisions that he does make, leaves one questioning whether he is serious. (Clearly, he thinks Bahamian people dem stupid!). Does he really consult the public or is that a facade. Clearly he playing politics with our emotions. Him with his code of ethics…

The PLP still victimizes and they reek of the old regime; Everyday another old evil PLP from yesteryear happens to be named on some public board in order to rake in the big monies. Moreover, every so often we hear rumours about some strange side deals being made throughout the Bahamas at the expense of the public. Then there is the gated communities for the rich popping up left and right, regulating average Bahamians to live in the inner city. The three beaches we have in Nassau crowded when the rich have their private beaches to enjoy. And I ain’t forget about how they selling all dese private islands to foreigners, not to mention that their claim to fame anchor projects only benefit is to make us professional bed makers and waiters. Oh God the madness must stop! Give me free! It seems as if massa give the whip to Tom and he beating me bad with it.

Then there is the frigging FNM doing fart…you know them stink wet set, which ya can’t even breathe in . Now a days they seem to boycott e’ry and any damn thing…It seems as if Ingraham is purposely selling out his party to Mr. Christie again. I said it…AGAIN…

Where is Cassius Stuart, man? How come he allowing dem to whip us so?
My back hurting man. I is a tired. I jus want some more porrage. Not plenty… I tired of hearing Dexter Johnson dem speeches, they need to do something dred…not just look on…

Then there are the Independent MPs…just a waste a time…Men without a party being the official opposition to the actual opposition, while the country sinks. I can’t vote for dem. Clearly a waste a vote…And they promoting vote for the individual…How can I vote for individual when a party needs to run the government. Man it so bad in the Bahamas that if ya vote for an individual, you risk having the wrong party leading the Bahamas for 5 more years.

Only God can save us! Where the Bishop with the holy oil, we need to annoit a new prophet!

Bahamas Issues: Combative Spirit within Bahamian Politics

Combative spirit in Bahamian politics

Oddly enough, there are some politicians who have sheer nerve to boldly criticize Bahamian teachers in public, concerning their negoitating tactics in regards to their contract with the government. It seems as if certain politicians are wearing horse blinders when it comes to their own faults.

I for one find it humourous that not a word was mentioned when Leslie Miller had a heated row with a foreign investor which almost came to blows. I find it peculiar that not a thing was said, when Neville Wisdom threatened that gentleman over not being allow to play golf free in Exuma. Not to mention that again nothing was said when Koed Smith cussed out Ivonne Ingraham in parliament square as he was entering the honorable House.

It seems as if what is good for the goose is not good for the gander…It seems as if Bahamian politicians are able to cuss out, threaten and insult whomever they wish at will. But oh, let anyone else confront them, or protest about ill treatment, they shout foul, citing the need for them to be good role models for the Bahamian youth. It just seems as if some people need to get fired!

Bahamas Issues: Purpose of the Senate

Purpose of the Senate?

The other day, I was lucky enough to be able to watch the proceedings of the House of Senate, the upper chamber of the Bahamas government on the parliamentary channel.

Being limited in my knowledge on what exactly takes place in the Senate, I watched with eagerness and delight. I am aware that both houses, the upper and the lower houses, usual conduct debates. Nevertheless, I assumed that the Senate main purspose was to debate whether or not a particular law will be passed which the Bahamian public will have to follow as a result.

But lo and behold, the debate was on whether it was appropriate for Mr. Ingraham to have returned as the leader of FNM. (Forget the fact, that he has been the leader of the FNM for several months now, and that the Bahamian populace have accept this fact, for there is not much anyone can do to change this). My God! The same folly that happens in the lower house is duplicated with the upper house. Absolutely no one is earning their keep! Exactly what are we paying these so called honorable men and women for, is it just to talk? They all seem to be just grand standing, speaking just to hear themselves, saying absolutely nothing.

When will they conduct the people’s business instead of playing with our intelligence. Stating and restating the unnecessary.

Bahamas Issues: Comment on proposed US sanctions against Bahamas over Cuban dentist

I did not want to start an entire new thread with a simular thought, but what you’ll think gan happen?

Will the Bahamas send the doctors to the United States or will we send them back home to Cuba?

If we send them to the United States, what do we tend to lose. What does Cuba have to offer us? Will our treaty with Cuba be threatened. Can Fred Mitchel influence the Castro government not to pull out of the Bahamas. What will happen to all them Cuban eye doctors we have here helping us? Didn’t the United States sent us two Ivy league student doctors to help us out with eye care?

And if we send them to Cuba, what do we tend to gain. Will the United States really sanction us? Or is that propaganda talk by some wanton congressman, who opinion really doesn’t matter. What will George Bush actually decide? How much economic power does Florida have in regards to influencing the Bahamian economy. Has Mr. Christie already committed to the good Floridian govenor that the Bahamas plans to send the Cuba doctors to Florida?

Has anyone reminded publicly the Floridians about how much Bahamian money is pumped into that state? Have we reminded them about the constructive contributions we have made in regards to building that state. Exactly who is important to who?

Lastly, I want to remind persons about Elian Gonzalez. What did the great United States government decided to do with him. How come them Cuban Americans aren’t still up in arms over that.

And how come it seems as if the Bahamas is always being bullied into making decisions that benefit other people. And exactly how much clout do these Cuban Americans actually have?

Bahamas Issues: Response to Chancellor’s issue with Hubert Ingraham not being in attendance for the opening of the House of Assembly

He has done this before mind you, but his job was to represent himself before our Governor General for the the people he represents, despite him being in opposition. I believe that was a great insult to our system of government and democracy…I could not live well with what he did today…him and Mr.Symonette. So even I who is not a PLP supporter was disgusted.

Okay answer me this…If not showing up was a political move, protest, stratergy… and purspose of Mr. Ingraham and Symonette being in politics is to influence, instigate, aggitate and ultimately return to be the government…
Isn’t this no show up simular to throwing out the mace…In 10 years, history may record this as the best political demonstration ever…all depends on who writes it…If the PLP wins…it was blow against democracy…not sure how that is…and if the FNM wins…it was a stand of solidarity and if the CDR wins…there will be a party in the back yard…ohhh oh oh, non stop partying all night long….And the Bahamas will be rake and scraping until the broad day light..partying until the break of dawn

Bahamas Issues: Number Racket in the Bahamas

Truly, the government of the Bahamas must be in cahoots with illegal gambling; as every day, these number houses apply and are granted licenses to operate. There are web shops on every street corner. In fact, opposing number houses set up shops right next to each other. There are number three number houses down town, one on P.I. and two on the cable beach stretch…not to mention the hundreds that exists over the hill. These number houses are now paying national insurance for their workers. Clearly, these number houses are legitimate!

Bahamas Issues: The Official Opposition to the Opposition

The Official Opposition to the Opposition

Can you imagine that there exists such a title?
And that title comes by way of the Hon. Tennyson Wells.
Since being booted out of the FNM, and since becoming a party member
Of absolutely nothing. Mr. Wells has find it extremely hard to adjust to the idea that he is now an independant member of parliament. There are a number of Independant MPs who work hard to represent their constituencies, ensuring that their supporters opinions are heard, scrutinizing the government’s projects, ensuring that the “people’s business” is attended to properly etc.
But not Mr. Wells!
Mr. Wells’ job is to complain about how he was unfairly booted out of the FNM, how the FNM is doing a horrible job, how they did a horrible job while he was apart of them way way back then, and finally his job is to complain that the FNM will fail, especially without him.
But guess what, he is no longer FNM, and sadly to say, it seems as if he doesnt even know it.

Case and Point:
If the schools need refurbishing by the PLP government, and all of the independant MPs complain and agitate along with the official opposition that something needs to be done, Mr. Wells, the Official Opposition to the opposition, would say, “forget the PLP, when I was in league with the FNM, they used to do things much worst. Don’t worry about fixing this problem at hand, lets investigate about how ineffficient the FNM were…
Ok…so what exactly is the Hon. Tennyson Wells’ job? to complain that he is by himself and that he is lonely in the boat.
