Bahamas Issues: Govenor General Position in trouble

Govenor General position in trouble??

As everyone knows, Mrs. Ivy Dumont is about to retire for the 3rd or 4th time.

Recently, Paul Adderley has been appointed as deputy Govenor General, and he serves as acting Govenor General when Dumont is indispose, and that is all well and good. As Adderley is an honourable man.

But, has anyone realized that Paul Adderley is not Knighted. (A.D Hanna isn’t Knighted also by the way). So what? you may ask, just knight him now. But really there is a reason…the reason is both men refused the title some time back; repeatedly. I am sure many of you know why;

Why? Simply because they don’t believe in the title; in fact, (and correct me room if I am wrong, as we do have people in this room who knows Bahamian history well), both Adderley and Hanna promotes the idea that we need to be free from the shackle of our English pass; that being all of the awards and the knighthood titles that she bestows upon her subjects.

And, in truth, I am cool with that opinion…what I am concern about is..how in heaven can Adderley be acting Govenor General, and perhaps the future Govenor General when he wants us to relinquish being ruled by the Crown…

I say something smelly happening. What you say?

Bahamas Issues: Black Washing Bahamian History

Black washing Bahamian History

One should look at the PLP party with great curiosity. Because it is a strange party, truly a peculiar entity. It is a crafty creature that plays on Bahamian emotions, quoting half truths and spreading innuendos. It seems as if the party is mischievous by nature, creating and editing Bahamain history by whim.

How is it that, Bahamian history does not begin until 1967? Who is to blame for that? In fact who wrote our history. HIS story…in the Bahamas it was written by the black PLP man….Man, I shouldn’t even have to call their name out, we all know who wrote the books. Apparently there were no Bahamian heroes until after that time. It seems as if someone has purposefully left out the preamble, the introduction to 1967 era.

Did the UBP ever do anything positive for the Bahamas. But who cares, they are dead and gone right…ah…well the PLP think they may come back, ask V Gray…he warn us about it… Any way, did the Bay street boys ever do anything positive? I know they are still around, check bay street….But my real question is: is there any good white Bahamian? Will there ever be a white Bahamian hero? Well not according to the PLP.

Lets talk about Majority Rule…
The PM announced recently that Majority day is for all Bahamians. Laughing, well, that may be so…but for more than 25 years the PLP have demonized white Bahamians. They purposefully made us forget the real heroes of Majority rule in order to promote Mr. Pindling. (Note that in all the newpapers concerning the promotion of Majority day, Pindling picture is in the forefront). What about Fawkes and Braynen? The two Bahamians responsible for Majority Rule Day…what about them that salt and peppa team…the ebony and ivory team. One would easily forget Braynen was conchie joe or long island red…

So what about the Origins of the PLP, the first political party…
few Bahamians know that the party was started by conchie joes. hmm…
Can anything good come from white Bahamians…well Mr. Pindling tid perfected the party…so we shall give him credit for it.

Bahamas Issues: Why I dislike the PLP

Actually, I have a distaste for all the political parties right now.
That includes, the PLP, the FNM, the CDR and the BDF. Right now, I don’t even favor the independent candidates. All seem to have major faults.

Nevertheless, I do believe in my right to vote; and moreso, I certainly do believe my vote makes a difference. Once upon a time I used to voted blindly for a particular party, (and moreso for no apparent reason). Yet, there was again a time, that I voted for ‘the individual,’ based on a short outline of their character, (that was pointless).

But this election, I hope to be different; moreso, I hope to influence people to think differently. I want to vote for ideals, and a greater cause, (yeah right). I want to vote for ‘help and hope’ the reality, not the fancy words, and potential names of subdivisions.

And there is only one way for me to do that, and I am starting right within this thread. ‘I gerring analyse and compare dese buggas!’

First of all the PLP and the FNM are the same. They are the same creature, with no difference. In fact, all a dem related; dey just have different personalities. So perhaps, the same accomplishments one party can do the other can accomplish it with the same vigor. Go figure!

PLP platform is that they are ‘the warriors for the small man.’ When you compare both major parties, one may conclude that perhaps their claim is correct. As this Urban Renewal concept supports it. However, does it support me, a lower middle class person, who no longer lives over the hill, but struggling all the same…maybe even more so, as now I have more self imposed basic luxuries to pay for, in my quest to have a comfortable and fulfilling life.

Another platform the PLPs may profess is that they are for the Bahamian people. Hog wash! We all know thus far, both parties promote foreign investment, and foreign investment only. Everything else is on a small scale. So lets flush that down the toilet.

Umm, what about the PLP being more Christian oriented? Ahh, I guess, I will leave this one out for personal interpretation… But does one need to be Christian oriented to led this country? Is having morals enough? Should there exist a code of conduct…opps we have that already, we just flush that down the tubes too. Its a free for all when it comes to politicians having morality in this Bahamas.

But let’s talk about the FNM… are they different from the PLP…umm nope…
Well, they do appear to have more white and expat supporters though …But is that a good thing? What does that say about the party itself…and how does that help me. I guess their platform is that they are a more inclusive political party. The Bahamas for all or the Bahamas for the Conchie joes and the affluent blacks. Oh well, I am far from being affluent…so I am still out in the cold.

But, what other platform the FNM politic on…umm, I rightly don’t know…perhaps opportunity….Yeah I guess I can go with that…the FNM promotes opportunity…But opportunity for anyone who has the money. That counts me out again. Dang. It seems like one have to be Greek, own all a down town, a shipyard or a Mall to survive here…Or perhaps be a lawyer.

Oh well, yall help me out, who should I vote for, and I need philosophical differences please, not some political propaganda and unproven scandals, save that for another thread! I gun mention the BDF and the CDR lata.
